Kung Fu Panda
Kung Fu Panda is a series of CGI-animated martial arts fantasy films and television series produced by DreamWorks Animation. It centers on the adventures of Po, an excitable but accident-prone giant panda who is selected by a wise tortoise as the prophesied Dragon Warrior and subsequently trains under Master Shifu and his team of kung fu warriors. The franchise includes three films and two TV series.
The Kung Fu Panda film series features a cast of well-known voice actors, including Jack Black as Po, Dustin Hoffman as Master Shifu, and Angelina Jolie as the tough-as-nails leader of the Furious Five fighting group, Tigress. The list of other notable voices also includes Danny DeVito, Ian McShane, Seth Rogen, Jackie Chan, Lucy Liu, James Hong, Randall Duk Kim, and David Cross.
Its story teaches valuable life lessons, including the importance of perseverance and determination. Although the movie contains numerous cartoon-like fight sequences, its plot may stimulate discussions about loyalty and self-esteem with children.
The Kung Fu Panda movie franchise has also spawned several video games, a live-action short film, and two television series, one of which is currently airing on Nickelodeon. Its sequels are Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011) and Kung Fu Panda 3 (2016), with a fourth film and a television series scheduled for release in 2024. The films and television series have been released in a mostly chronological order, with the exception of the 2010 TV series Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness, which was delayed due to the Nick television network's decision to launch it alongside Kung Fu Panda 2. In addition to the feature-length films, the franchise has produced four short films and an animated web-television series that is currently airing on Amazon Prime.
